I shot this while out on assignment for the paper. The subject was “Summer Fun” or something along those lines. It’s just a candid photo of a kid enjoying his first days of summer vacation.
This is probably one my favorite pictures to date. Without going into a novel, this picture really reminds me of my own childhood. The clumbsyness, the funny, all of those fun summers just hanging out with my friends, and basically just everything that was good. Back when I didn’t have any mouths to feed or bills to pay. All I had to worry about back then was which pool we’d go to today and getting the best team for a kickball game.
This is the kind of stuff that makes me love photography. And it brings up a great point. I’m always much happier about my photos whenever I’m passionate about them on a personal level. Images like this pushes me to want to be closer to my subjects. Again, I’m inspired and motivated!
